About Us
Lightwater Junior Badminton Club (LJBC) has been established for over 40 years. We strive to provide fun, structured tuition and playing opportunities in a friendly club atmosphere for children of all abilities (including those who have never played before), from the ages of 8 to 18, aiming to help all members reach the minimum standards often required by adult clubs, while having fun and making new friends.
LJBC hold the club training sessions on Sunday mornings - Beginner/Intermediate from 10am - 11.30am and Emerging/advanced from 11.30am - 1.00pm. The club continues to be located at the Lightwater Leisure Centre - ‘Lifestyle Fitness’, Lightwater Country Park, The Avenue, GU18 5RG.
The club is affiliated to the Aldershot and Camberley District Badminton League (ACDBL), the Surrey County Badminton Association and is a registered member of Badminton England (BE).
Badminton England qualified (Level 2 and Level 1) and registered coaches are available each week. Being associated to Badminton England and the Surrey County contributes to keeping our club up to date with new playing techniques and current thinking within the game. This includes attendance at coaches’ seminars, review of literature and use of
coaching aids available via Badminton England.
Membership of BE includes Members’ Civil Liability
Insurance for the club.
